Day of Pentecost!
We get to read in the Book of Acts the power of the Holy Spirit Jesus talked about in the gospel readings for this Pentecostal Sunday! The Spirit of Truth! Jesus say "the world will not see me, but you will see me!" The Holy Spirit will reveal the truth that Jesus is in them and Jesus is in the Father! The awakaning and the anointing! The Day that their eyes are truly opened! The truth that will set them free! That great and mighty wind came as a force upon everyone as a holy fire! Peter in the Book of Acts 2 explaine that "God would pour out His Holy Spirit on all people!" The Book of Joel from the Old Testament, the second Chapter spoke of this occurrence.

Easter 7
Hopefully all have celebrated Rogation Days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) which led into Ascension Day celebration! We do look forward to Easter 7 in the reading of the Gospel of John 17:20-26 where Jesus made the point in His prayers that all may be one as He is with His Father! He gave us His glory and be as one as He and His Father are! Jesus wanted His Father to let us see His glory, as our Heavenly Father loved Jesus before the creation of the world! Jesus made our Heavenly Father known to the world and will continue to make our Heavenly Father known to men so that all may have His love in His own as the Father is in our Savior!
Father Clark will lead us to understand these scriptures more fully Easter 7 services! Also leading us are; Readers; Steve Rowe, Glenn Brod, Crucifer/Server; Alan DeClue, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Michelle Berger, Altar Guild; Michelle Berger, Usher/Greeter; Jay Rosener, Hospitality; Marie Morris, Catherine Crawford. All the food for Eat-in was delicious, and thanks for all the KP volunteers!

Easter 6!
We are looking into John 14:23-29 or John 5:1-9 according to the Foward Day by Day. Jesus spoke of the Holdy Spirit coming and will help and teach us and remind us Jesus loves us and warned the ruler of this world is coming and the Lord will leave and then return. In John 5:1-9, the scripture is speaking of the man Jesus healed at the pool after asking the man if he wanted to be healed and ordered the man to "take up his bed and walk," and he began to walk. These scriptures teach us very well that the Lord is in control of all things and knows all things, always faithful, always loving.
Readings for Sunday are; Psalm 67 Acts 16:9-15, Revelation 21:10, 22-11:5 John 14:23-29, John 5:1-9.
Those helping Sunday are; Father Clark, Jim Ber, Jay Rosener, Crucifer/Server; Danielle Lay, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Linda Lay, Altar Guild; Kim Crawford, Usher/Greeter; Alex Young, Hospitality; Linda Lay, Kim Crawford, all who will. Thanks for all the help this Sunday!
We will also be celebrating Rogation Day after Services Sunday, bring in your plants to be blessed!
Rogation Days
by Don Palmer
Rogation Days are an ancient custom which has been being observed since the 5th century.
Rogation—to ask, as in“interrogate”—we ask God’s blessing of the harvest, of the
earth and sea. We remind ourselves that we are the stewards of Creation, neither
the authors nor the owners of it. Originally an agricultural observance, it has
been broadened and made more inclusive—the crops, the catch of the sea, the
fruits of our labors in all their aspects.
An ancient pagan custom was “beating the bounds”, with a procession walking out the
boundary lines of the village and marking the bounds with stakes. Sticks of
willow and birch were used to strike the stakes; hence, “beating the bounds”.
Subsequently the custom became incorporated into Rogation Days celebration,
particularly in England, in which the parishes are clearly defined, contiguous
with adjacent parishes. Rogation Day was celebrated by walking the boundaries of
the parish and acknowledging in this way our tangible
stewardship.
As the countries, including our own, became more industrialized and less agrarian,
we have seen a lessening of the celebration of Rogation—and we are the worse for
it. Our “new” Episcopal Book of Common Prayer of 1979 sneakily de-emphasized
Rogation Days and Rogation Sunday, as they were annotated in the 1928 BCP They
are privileged times to celebrate stewardship, to remind ourselves of our roles,
not as masters or owners, but as stewards.
Job had to be reminded of that, too. Remember the voice from the whirlwind? “Where
were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? When the morning stars sang

Easter 5!
We are glad to see so many at services this Easter 4 and hope all of you will grace us with your presence again soon! We do thank Father Nowlin and Father Tudor for gracing us in the two services while Father Clark has been gone! We do look forward to our gospel reading for this coming Sunday also! We are looking into John 13:31-35 where Jesus explains about His glorification and He will be leaving His flock. A new commandment He issues, "Love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye love one to another.
We can get into the definition of love as many have done, but Jesus is specific in telling us to love one another as 'He' loved us. That means we will depend on Him guiding us each day and moment how He wants us to treat our brethren and fellow man or woman. Continually in touch with Him, seeking His guidance and stripping ourselves of our own thinking and letting Him be our guide. Thank you Lord for showing us the way!
Serving this Sunday; Father Clark, Readers; Steve Rowe, Doris Mahn, Crucifer/ Server; Stephanie Rowe, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Joyce Koch, Altar Guild; Beth Weissler, Usher/Greeter; Steve Rowe, Hospitality; Kim Crawford, Alex Young.

Easter 4!
We look forward again to the readings from John 10:22-30 The Jews surrounded Jesus at Solomon's Colonade asking if He were the Christ ( in John 6:65 "that no one came come to me unless the Father has enabled him", that it is the work of our Father that draws us to Christ, not men). As Christ speaks to them, he tells them they are not His because they do not understand Him. His sheep do hear His voice (I am His, and He is mine!). You cannot be taken from Him and you will not perish! His Father has given you to Jesus and our Heavenly Father is greater than all! Noone can snatch you out of our Heavenly Father's hand! Jesus proclaims, "I and the Father are one!" Praise be to God!
We will be lead by Father Nowlin with Readers; Jay Rosener, Linda Lay, Crucifer/Server; Kim Crawford, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Michelle Berger, Altar Guild; Joyce Koch, Usher/Greeter; Ed Weissler, Hospitality; Mildred Sloan, Doris Mahn. 3 Easter!
We are now delving into John 21:1-19 of Peter and his fellow fishermen were in their boat trying to catch their fish to no avail. Someone sitting on shore told them to put the nets out to the right side. They put their nets in and could not lift the nets, that they were that full. The total of fish was 153 and all were astonished at the amount caught. They all went to shore and ate with the stranger, but they knew it was Jesus, but they were afraid to ask. Later Jesus asked Peter to feed His sheep, for three times, then Peter was saddened by the Lord's since he denied Jesus three times before. Then Jesus prophesied what death Peter was to suffer in John 21.
Many have tried to understand why 153 fish, the most popular is the 153 stands for all the variety of fish, therefore all different types of people are to be brought into the Christian fold. Some say 153 nations, which some say were the amount of nations at that time, and all the disciples were to spread the gospel to all the nations. The Lord did want Peter to take care and minister the word to Jesus's followers. We do appreciate the readings on the fish, since a whole net was caught through our Lord and Savior. It tells us that we need the Lord in all our situations to have a full and prosperous outcome. We do thank our Lord for those blessings!
Sunday's readings are; John 21:1-19 Revelation 5:11-14 Acts 9:1-6(7-20) Psalm 30.

5th Lent
We honor Our Lord this coming Sunday by really understanding we have the gift of knowing what lies ahead in the few weeks we have to the Lord's ultimate of goal of His Cross. We look in John 12:1-8 at Mary's gift of anointing Jesus's feet with spikenard, generally used for washing the body for burial. A representation of overwhelming love and compassion of someone forgiven as Mary and as we all have been forgiven! Jesus was ready for His journey for our salvation! Although Mary was ridiculed for her lavishness on Jesus by Judas Iscariot, she did not waver in her total attention upon the Lord! This understanding hopefully will grace us all in our walk with the Lord!
Leading us next Sunday are; Father Clark; Readers; Jay Rosner, Linda Lay, Crucifer/Server; Kim Crawford, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Michelle Berger, Altar Guild; Joyce Koch, Usher/Greeter; Maria Morris, Hospitality; Mildred Sloan, Maria Morris. Thanks to all who served last Sunday!

4th Lent!
We look at Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32 where Pharisees and teachers of the law criticized the gathering of "sinners" that were with Jesus. The parable used here was the lost sheep that the shepherd was found and also the Parable of the Lost Son, that wasted his inheritance and wanted to go back home to his father. As it turns out, the father has a party for the returning son and rejoices in his return. The older son was taken aback and resented his brother being received with such fanfare. The older son protested to his father by not going to the party and the Father went to see what was wrong. As the older son told his father his feelings, the loving Father graciously pointed out that all was to be his and that his brother was dead and now is alive. This last part shows that Jesus was talking of the Pharisees and their resentment and bitterness that Jesus could see in their hearts. Nothing can be hidden from God or His Son! Those "Sinners" that the Pharisees talked about had already "hit bottom" and were totally focused on Jesus because they saw His compassion.
More on these passages through Father Clark this coming Sunday! Serving with him will be; Readers: Steve Rowe, Glenn Brod, Crucifer/Server; Alan DeClue, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Linda Lay, Altar Guild; Michelle Berger, Usher/Greeter; Maria Morris, Hospitality; Linda Lay, Danielle Lay. 3rd Lent!
We see that our readings for this coming Sunday are Exodus 3:1-15 Psalm 63:1-8 1Corinthians 10:1-13 Luke 13:1-9. The Gospel of Luke 13:1-9 speaks of a fig tree that did not bear fruit and the owner wanted it to be torn out and burned, the gardener asked to fertilize it and see if it would bear fruit in the coming year. As the lord is our gardener, He is able to nurture us and have us bear fruit, since our salvation is a gift and He leads us along giving us understanding and more strength to go through harder trials, we will bear more fruit in the following harvest! Mark Sluss, told of our need to bear fruit, and to reach out, as that tree, and soak in God's warmth and then spread it to others we come in contact. The Lord will give us that ability, then we will bear more fruit, an ongoing cycle of growth and miraculous changes!
Leading the congregation next Sunday; Father Clark, Readers; Jim Berger, Jay Rosner, Crucifer/Server; Danielle Lay, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Joyce Koch, Altar Guild; Kim Crawford, Usher/Greeter; Glenn Brod, Hospitality; Beth Weissler, Stephanie Rowe, all others. Thanks to all who filled in to do kp last Sunday! Thanks to all who showed with such bad weather in our midst!

2nd Lent is upon us!
Seems like we are marching through Lent at a fast pace! This last Sunday we barely escaped an asteroid and a meteor crashed into a neighboring part of our world! We may assume that we should be watching and waiting for our Lord's return! We do want to focus on our scriptures for next week in the gospel of Luke 13:31-15. We see Pharisees coming up and warning Jesus of Herod wanting to kill Him (quite different from the ending), but the Lord did not turn from His destiny! Our Lord grieved over Jerusalem, saying that Jerusalem had slain their prophets and also those sent to them! We will hope in our Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins!
Those helping Sunday are; Father Clark, and guest The Venerable Mark Sluss, Readers; Steve Rowe, Doris Mahn, Crucifer/Server; Stephanie Rowe, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Joyce Koch, Altar Guild; Kim Crawford, Usher/Greeter; Alex DeClue, Hospitality; Jay Rosner, Joyce Koch. Ash Wednesday!
We will have Ash Wednesday services at 7:30 PM at Trinity. We will read from our Book of Common Prayer with the bible readings on page 264. Listed for the Old Testament, Joel 2:1-2, 12-17 or Isaiah 58:1-12 Psalm 102 or 103:8-14
Epistle is; 2 Corinthians 5:20b-6:10 Gospel is; Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21. The Lord desires a humble heart from those who follow Him in this reading, making sure we understand that we don't boast in piety by praying in front of others but in our own homes, where noone sees us. The Lord's prayer is quoted in verse 9-15 which really very compact and powerful. We also must not look like we are fasting in front of others, another act of piety that the Lord disdains. We do not put on airs to please others. This really makes it easy for us by not carrying the baggage of being perfect, for He is the perfect one, our great example for all times.
Volunteers will be needed for Wednesday night and all are welcome for Ash Wednesday services! See you there!

Last Sunday after Epiphany
We are looking into Ash Wednesday next week! We will start off our Lend deliberation and meditation! We look forward to all our Lent readings and meditations! We will look into our Sunday service, Luke 9:28-36(37-43). Jesus takes Peter, John, and James to a mountain to pray. He was transfigured in front of them and spoke to Moses and Elijah about His departure. Peter spoke to Jesus about building tabernacles, but no response from the Lord. They all went down and jesus healed a little boy (removing a demon from her). Then Jesus said, "The Son of Man is to be betrayed into the hands of men." These words were not understood because they were hidden from the disciples.
We can see the power and authority the Lord possesses, but then shows He is willing to give all for us by losing all in this world of ours. Our disciples did not grasp what Jesus says here, because the Lord's Supper had not taken place yet, by which our gift of the Lord's Supper would be given to us! We look at this blessing for all time, and can share this gift to all who will hear it and be blessed! Thank You Lord!

Epiphany IV coming up!
February 3 coming up soon and we are looking into Luke 4:21-30. We see Jesus in the temple of Nazareth where He said, "No prophet is accepted in his hometown." Some queried that, "isn't this the son of Joseph?" This dialog could tell us that God reveals to us, as with Peter, that jesus is the Son of God! Even the most learned may not 'get it' that Jesus is the Christ bringing to all the dispensation of grace. You might say, ties had to be severed from the old covenant with Israel so the new covenant with Jesus would be distributed to all peoples. As many of the leaders ran upon Jesus to throw Jesus out of town (and down a cliff) bringing to light the covenant they made with Joshua 24:27 that covenant would be a witness against them if they were not true to their God. All had to come to pass to allow salvation to all people, as the representation of Naaman being healed of leprosy, who was not an Israelite. The new covenant was being ushered in through Christ. We thank our Lord and Savior for His sacrifice for all mankind and His graciousness.
Father Clark will lead us next Sunday (Lord willing the weather is good)! We are grateful though, for the weather, where we need our precipitation!

Jeremiah: 1:4-10 Psalm 71:1-6 I Corinthians 13:1-13 Luke 4:21-30.

Epiphany 3 approaching January 20, 2013!
We are now looking into Luke 4:14-21when Jesus went to Galilee in the power of the Holy Spirit, taught in their synagogues and everyone praised Him! Then Jesus went to Nazareth and spoke in the synagogue there reading the scriptures from Isaiah 61:1-2 and saying, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing. Not afraid to speak, power emanating from His words, noone could turn from Him in the synagogue. Our precious Lamb (knowing the future) proclaimed in the synagogue to preach good news to the poor, freedom for prisoners (we can say there is a variety of or types of prisoners, expecially sin) and sight for the blind (may be for lost souls who don't know God). We thank Him for His testimony, so that we now can rejoice in His love and commitment to all of us!

We now look into 2nd Epiphany and see Jesus's miracles! Changing the water into wine at a wedding feast! The readings are from John 2:1-11 speaking of Mary's request for Jesus that they have no more wine. Speaking that His time had not yet come would mean something to all of us! Is it the Cross, or is it the Ressurection, or the Ascention of our Lord? We turn to Father Clark for him to show us.

We are looking forward to the gospel reading from Luke 3:7-18, John the Baptist speaks to the crowds to bear good fruit, since that which does not produce will be cut down. He extolled to those who asked, wisdom of just and true kindredship with their townsfolk. One person would have two coats should share, as with extra food, another would be a tax collector needing advice and what was given was not to take more than what is asked, or with the soldiers in not taking money from the peasants and be happy with their wages. He talked of Jesus as the one who will baptize with fire and the Holy Spirit! Chaff will be burned and wheat gathered into the barn!

A quiet time for the Lord to speak to us, either in comfort, discernment, whatever He wants to reveal to us.

The readings we will have this Sunday will be from John 18:33-37 where Jesus is with Pilate and Pilate is questioning Jesus if He is the King of the Jews. The chilling reality that the chief priests deliberately handed Jesus over to be killed or crucified. The good news is Jesus is not earthbound but heavenbound for us. Pilate told the Chief Priests that he could not find any wrong in Jesus and wondered if they wanted Jesus released. A bandit named Barabbas was released instead of Jesus. We are all Barabbas! We have been set free because of Jesus sacrifice for us!

25 Pentecost November 18, 2012
We are looking into the word of God where Jesus told His followers that the stones will be torn down. The disciples asked Him privately when this will happen. Jesus told them to watch out for false Messiahs then there will be wars and rumors of wars. Jesus implored them that this must take place and they will be flogged but the Holy Spirit will give them the words to speak. Betrayal will also happen, brother to brother, father and his child, children against parents. But, the one who endures in the end will be salved.

October 28, 2012 Pentecost 22 or Proper 24
We will look into Mark 10:46-52 to understand the healing of Bartimaeus, a blind man. Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was there in their midst and started crying out for mercy, then he got louder and asked for mercy despite people trying to keep him quiet. Jesus told them to call him Jesus asked him what he wanted him to do when he stood by Him. Bartimaeus asked to be able to see. Jesus responded, "Go, your faith has healed you." Jesus told this man he was healed and immediately he received his sight. This Bartimaeus had insight, though he was blind, he saw Jesus as a healer and a redeemer.

Many of the other disciples were angry at their request, but Jesus said, "whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be slave of all. For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many."

18 Pentecost Proper 21
We learned this week to open up our hearts to others and to Jesus, which opens the door to our everliving God. This coming Sunday will delve into others who used Jesus' name to cast out demons plus the temptations of sin , which means casting off anything that will hinder our walk with Jesus. In Mark 9:50 Jesus talks of the salt losing its saltiness so how can you season anything? Also, "we must have salt in ourselves and be at peace with one another."
Father Clark will show us the way of understanding next week on these precepts. Leading us next Sunday are; Father Clark, Readers; Jay Rosener, Doris Mahn, Crucifer/Server; Dannielle Lay, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Linda Lay, Altar Guild; Kim Crawford, Usher/Greeter; Jim Berger, Hospitality; Joyce Koch, Glenn Brod. 17 Pentecost Proper 20
We will dig into Mark 9:30-37 where Jesus told His disciples that He would be betrayed and then be killed, but rise again in three days. The disciples did not understand what He was saying. The disciples were arguing on the triip and Jesus later asked them what they were arguing about. Argument over who was the greatest caused Jesus to bring the 12 together and teach them that "whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all." Jesus took a child in His arms and said, "Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me." We will listen to Father Clark's message to understand the depth of the Lord's words next Sunday!

Jesus did continue and told them as to what profit to them if they gained the whole world but lose their own life? Will we be ashamed of Him, if we are, He will be ashamed of us! The question," are we able to drink I drink of and with the baptism that I am baptized with?"

Day before All Saint's Eve (or Halloween to some of us)
All Saint's Eve and All Saint's Day has nothing to do with Halloween. All Saint's celebrations were established to dedicate a celebration to the martyrs mostly caused through Emporer Diocletion in 284-305. It was settled on May 13th for many years but changed by Pope Gregory III to Nov. 1.
Halloween was designated in the countries of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland. A pagan celebration, to celebrate Sanhaim, Celtic Lord of Death. Many animals, people, etc. were burned by the priests whol let the fire run it's course and would see signs of the future in the bones of the people, etc. in the ashes of the fire. Other rituals were attched and folklore. Read more on wikipedia.
Father James Clark will lead us next Sunday, studying the scripture from Matthew 23:1-12 which has "All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted."
Leading this coming Sunday are; Readers; Linda Lay, Dannielle Lay; Crucifer/Server; Stephanie Rowe, Lay Eucharistic Minister; Michelle Berger, Altar Guild; Joyce Koch, Usher/Greeter; Glenn Brod, Hospitality; Glenn Brod, Mildred Sloan. Thanks to all who pitched in last week!
Upcoming worship time, October 23, 2011
Mathew 22:34-46 is a very rich in the teachings of Jesus," 'You shal Love the Lord thy God with all you heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it:'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the law and prophets." Much more in the verses speaks of "The son of David" , and much more will be revealed by Father Clark.
Leaders for Sunday will be Readers; Glenn Brod, Stephanie Rowe, Crucifer/ Server; Ben Lay, Lay Eucharist Minister; Joyce Koch, Altar Guild; Kim Crawford, Usher/Greeter; Linda Lay, Hospitality; Michelle Berger, Steve Rowe. Thanks for the help!
More information on the painting later! If anyone knows the history of the painting, please send it to us in the blog!
